Welcome to BUBBLEGUM, an Elite roleplay of both unusual and usual sorts.
But first...

Now. Business. Or, at least, as close as you can get to business for a roleplay entitled 'Bubblegum'. As you may have guessed, this is not about a bubble-blowing contest. Or, as the banner may have mislead you, sticky-gummed pirate women. No, this roleplay is about a team of magical teenagers, and their destiny to fight the evil forces as they appear in their city. Think Powerpuff Girls, Princess Tutu and Sailor Moon, and then smush them altogether- you come out with the Bubbles, multicolored, superpowered guardians of justice.

You see, in this city, nothing is quite what it seems. For instance, once having visited the city's best candy store, no average person would stop to wonder about their server- a human-sized pure white cat with a fantastic sense of humor. However, regardless of other encounters of surrealism, none of the six kids-turned-Bubbles expected what happened to them. It seemed harmless at first, really; browsing a used furniture store, chatting with the eccentric owner, Candy Korn. And then, they approached it- the gumball machine, just in from wherever Candy got her crazy cool stuff. It wasn't like she didn't warn them- "You know, there are stories that come with that thing...". But they turned their quarters in anyway, and popped the pieces of gum into their mouths, one by one.

The next day, everything changed.
The world was introduced to Pink Bubble, Blue Bubble, Green Bubbles, Yellow Bubble, White Bubble and Red Bubble. Six magical kids who were fated to do one thing, and one thing only-

Fend off the evil sisters, Cherry Garcia and French Vanilla. First, they will face their henchmen.
Then, perhaps, the loss of their lives.

How it all plays out is up to you.

[Penguin [Cult!]]

She always knew it was coming. That someday, sometime, something would happen in a world where things very rarely happened- Candy Korn, the owner of the city’s best used furniture and knickknack store, had always known that it would happen. So, of course, it was no surprise when it did.

What happened, you ask?
Something of mythical proportions.

It started, of course, with something purely extraordinary- a gumball machine, approximately four feet tall, had sat in the corner of Candy’s shop for over a decade. She herself wasn’t precisely sure where she’d gotten it from- but she knew things about it. Just like she knew things about everything, in her own creepy sort of way. For years, she had warned people away from that gumball machine, telling stories of tragedy and death (most purely made up). But it had to happen. It had to happen, so of course it did.

There was a day when everything changed in that shop, and six kids approached the gumball machine while Candy was otherwise occupied. As small children, the warnings had worked- but as they embraced their teenage years, their curiousity grew. So. On one fateful day. Six gumballs left that machine and were popped into six mouths. And as a result? Six average teenagers in a not-so-average world found themselves with incredible powers.

And so they were born; Pink Bubble, White Bubble, Blue Bubble, Yellow Bubble, Green Bubble and Red Bubble. Defenders of justice, truth, and all that jazz- not to mention an incredibly cool transformation sequence to boot! With Candy as an irritable advisor, and two small, talking lovebirds for guides, the Bubbles find themselves on the forefront of Good.

But with Good must come Evil- after the arrival of the Bubbles, a building in the middle of town morphed to become the lair of the most sinister duo to ever grace the face of the planet. French Vanilla (Frenny, as she’s known by her sister) and Cherry Garcia are set on only one thing- the destruction of the Bubbles and, in the end, complete and total world domination. One by one they will send their henchmen after the Bubbles, who will have to defeat evil with one smack at a time.

Welcome to one seriously sticky situation.

An 'Advanced' Roleplayer...
♥ Knows the quality is over quantity, but quantity should still have a minimum of three good sized paragraphs. For this roleplay, I want goodsized, normal sized intros, but shorter responses- it should be choppier, with more interaction than most, I think.
Keeps their font sizes to ten or eleven
♥ Respects the PG13 limitations of Gaia
♥ Knows how to paint a picture with their words without droning on about a blade of grass for extended periods of time. And, most of all, can keep interest in their writing. Keep me interested, and you're in. Entertain me while you're at it, and you've got a fan.
♥ Should be able to keep things at least minorly pretty- at the very lowest, a justified alignment and a pretty font color.
♥ Should be responsible about this roleplay and give us warning at least a week before disappearance or quitting, unless it is an emergency such as family issues.

A Profile/Character...
♥ Should not resemble a million other characters that have been created before it
♥ Should not be the most amazing person to ever grace the planet. Unless they have a superiority complex. And then it's just them.
♥ Should have quirks and faults that make them human
♥ Should be posted in the OOC thread when they are finished
♥ Should be able to fit into the storyline and mesh with other characters
♥ Should be original enough to not bore us

Some Hints and Pet Peeves...
♥ I expect ALL characters to have nameless, otherwise unpersonified models as their appearances. I don't like using celebrities, because they're generally recognizable, and underground actors/singers are also have more of a feeling of identity to them. And I'd really appreciate it if you didn't use pictures of yourself- that's you, not your character : ) Thanks, guys. (If you need help finding a model site, PM me and I'll send one back)
♥ No Facians. I don't want a horde of wannabe asian kids in here- it drives me mad when all I get is a bunch of caucasian/spanish/etc. kids who want to be asian, but also makes that character into an anime character. If you ARE asian, I have no problem with it. xD I consider this tchy topic, so I won't comment if you do do this, but your chances at getting in are lowered.
♥ Let's just say that in this world, not all teenagers are scene kids.
♥ Don't be obnoxious until I can love you enough to stand it! Pleeease!

Finally, oh, so finally, you've gotten to the part that you've been aiming for all along! The application process, whoo-hoo. Well, first, as usual, we'd like you to send in a background check- but, UNLIKE most roleplays, we aren't going to accept or decline you. You can go straight from the background check to the profile, without waiting for a response. It's just an easier way for us to have samples and know what you write like 'n stuff (and decide off the bat if we're going to let you in or not). : ) Less stress, or so we hope! So, have fun, and be INVENTIVE with your characters. Please note that:

1. Pretty layouts are a plus.
2. We want real-life pictures ONLY. Need a model site? PM [Mr.] Snuggles.
3. We're looking for EXTREMELY creative characters! Make us love 'em. ;D
4. This is a VERY basic profile! We don't want you to take it and look at it like a normal profile- we want you to be innovative with the layout and how you express the information to us. We want this profile to be more fun, and more of a representation of who your character is. This roleplay is going to take creativity- this is where you show us that you've got it.

essay section - This is a multi-paragraph section. I don't care what it is- a personality/biography in narrative or first person, a scene from your character's perspective, a breakdown of your characters traits. I just want a minimum of four paragraphs that give us a good idea of who your character is! So make sure it's poignant, descriptive, and interesting.
five words - five descriptive words on your character, just in case the essay section doesn't work out for you.

alias - which Bubble they are; Pink, blue...etc.
transformation phrase - The phrase that they shout in order to transform.
transformation statement - The motto/statement they make once they're done transforming.
powers/attacks - You can handle this in one or two segments. Describe your character's powers and attacks- but please stay away from elements. Pleeease. Keep it more like Powerpuff Girls Z, or even as much elements as in Sailor Moon. But other than that, don't base everything off elements.
outfit - You can find an image or describe it here.
theme song - your character's theme song.
